Property Description

The Captains Cabin is a simple private cozy family cabin, with space and room to spread out and enjoy time together as a family. The Cabin has areas to wander, walk and hike. Dining Table inside to enjoy simple meals, game night or a morning cup of coffee. Screened front porch with rockers has a view of Little Onion Mountain, and a great place to end the day and enjoy the beautiful mountain sky as the sun is setting.

The Cabin's Living Room has a large screen television, wood burning stone fireplace, and reclining sofa, recliner and large couch. The kitchen is simply adorned with all the basics, stove, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, drip coffee maker, and a kuerig with coffee, creamer & sugar assortment provided. The Dining Room table is part of the kitchen with big windows looking out to the side yard. There is also a full bathroom located on the main bottom floor, with a tub/shower combo.

As you make your way upstairs in the hallway is the deed to the original cabin which dates back to 1838, a little Captain's Memorabilia wall, a full bathroom, sun porch, along with all bedrooms.

The first bedroom you come to is the Lighthouse Lookout, and is dedicated to the Captain's Mom who loved Lighthouses, this room has two twin beds, and has access to the front facing sunroom, which is home to our Mascot Polly. Enjoy the Mountain View, and a little relaxation on Polly's Porch. Also adjoining the Lighthouse Lookout is additional bedroom the Sharks Slumber Suite, with one queen bed, and a bunk bed, and is great for families.

The third bedroom upstairs is the Captains Quarters it has a King Bed, and French doors that lead out to the Pirate Play Porch, where you can enjoy the sound of the water wheel, play foosball, cards, board games, or enjoy a good rum punch or Moonshine Mixer.

Also upstairs is the 2nd full bathroom, with shower & vanity.

The Captains Cabin does have wifi, and depending on cell phone provider service, sometimes using wifi is preferred.

Outside the Cabin is a spacious side yard area, with fire pit, picnic tables, and room to run, roam, and play!

Booking Terms

NO weapons permitted.

No smoking of any kind inside or on porches.

Please place all trash in bags and in designated trash cans.

Pet Friendly, all pets have to be disclosed and approved.

Check in time is 4pm.
Checkout time is 10am.

Upon your arrival everything will be ready for you.  Access to the home will be provided and available thru a keypad code.  

A Captain's Cabin is well furnished and has amenities for the entire family.  

All linens are provided with each bed having sheets, seasonal appropriate bedding, and extra pillows.  Towels, wash clothes & hand towels are also provided, some hung on the rack the remaining for use are located in the vanity cabinets or linen closet in the bathroom.  A welcome basket is provided upon check in with goodies to share and snack on.  Paper towel and toilet paper starters are provided depending on length of stay and number of guests will determine how long it will last, two rolls of Paper Towels, and two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom.  Shampoo, conditioner and soap is also provided in each shower, along with laundry detergent, dish and dishwasher detergent. We want you to feel at home and ready for your mountain vacation.

Request and acceptance of reservation is agreement to the following house rules and compliance with all said rules as well as acknowledgement of the following policies:

Remove all trash from the home and place in the trash can in the garage.

There is no trash service on the mountain. The trash cans in the garage are metal, and trash can be stored there. Please make regular stops at the trash station which is conveniently located on Highlands Rd., just past the BP station as you are heading to Franklin.

It is J&B Disposal it is free you simply drive in throw the bagged trash into the dumpster and away you go. The address is J&B Disposal 2076 Highlands Rd., Franklin

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY TRASH AT THE HOME NOT IN THE OUTSIDE TRASH CANS IT WILL ATTRACT WILD ANIMALS!

Other important notes:

Keep house locked and secure every time you leave for the day and upon check out.

No smoking inside the home or on any of the decks. Any evidence of smoke a fee of $250 will be charged.

Any damage made to property or furnishings which exceeds deposit amount will be billed to the guest, and will be reported.

We want all of our guests to be respectful of neighbors, please keep noise to a minimum while in side or front yard, on the decks or around the fire pit . Quiet time is 11pm. Any disturbance triggering a visit by police will require guests to forfeit the remainder of their stay and immediately vacate property without any refund. We want all to enjoy your vacation, but be kind and respectful of neighbors as well. Guests must be 23 years or over.

CONDITION OF THE PROPERTY. If you notice any problems, hazardous conditions, housekeeping issues, or maintenance issues, please notify the Hosts immediately. If the Vacation Rental is not in the condition represented in the rental listing, the Hosts may, in its sole discretion, offer an appeasement; provided, however, that in no event will such an appeasement exceed the amount you paid for the reservation.

HOST ACCESS. You agree to allow the Hosts and/or their agents reasonable access to the Vacation Rental during your stay if requested. Such access may be necessary to resolve maintenance related issues you report. In the event of an emergency, the Vacation Rental may be accessed without prior notice or permission.

CLEANLINESS. You are expected to treat the Vacation Rental with respect, keeping in mind that this is an individual’s home, not a hotel room. Even where a cleaning fee is charged, you are expected to leave the Vacation Rental in a clean, neat, and orderly condition and follow check-out procedures. Additional fees will be charged if property is disrespected and in need of specialized cleaning as a result.

CANCELLATIONS BY HOSTS. In the event Hosts cannot deliver possession or cancels the Vacation Rental, then Hosts or its agents shall refund any funds paid and have no further liability, the Agreement and all rights hereunder shall terminate.

In the event your stay at the Vacation Rental becomes impossible for any reason outside Hosts control, including natural disasters, fire, evacuation orders, or other acts of government agencies, Hosts may choose to cancel your booking and issue a partial or full refund. For purposes of clarification, no refund or credit is due (or will be made) to you for inclement weather unless Hosts initiate the cancellation. You and your invitees must comply with any mandatory evacuation order.

Pet Rules:
Approved dogs are welcomed, with disclosure and approval of host, payment of pet fee along, and agreement to the following rules and policies:

Responsibilities of Guest:
a) Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds
b) Renter shall be responsible for Renter’s Pet at all times.
c) Renter will take all reasonable action to not allow Renter’s Pet from creating a nuisance, annoyance and disturbance to neighbors.
d) Renter’s Pet will be kept in appropriate areas and will not be left unattended for an undue amount of time.
e) Renter’s Pet will be under the full control of Renter at all times and is allowed outside fenced area only if restrained on a leash or in a pet carrier.
f) Renter will clean up and properly dispose of all pet waste inside and outside.
g) Renter will comply with all applicable community local ordinances, rules and regulations.
h) It is Renters responsibility to insure fencing is intact and secure. Hosts make no guarantee of condition or that it will keep Pet within its boundaries.
i) If these responsibilities are not met, we will make a claim against the security deposit for additional fees incurred.
j) Renter insures the pet is properly vaccinated and is being treated with flea and tick prevention and has no evidence of any fleas or ticks.
